Nick started his career in 2003 and has vast experience in the Distribution Electrical industry, specialising in the management and development of electrical and civil construction crews. Since joining UCS in 2016 his focus has been on the efficient delivery of electrical reticulation services in residential, commercial, and industrial subdivisions, whilst meeting and exceeding client expectations for safe and reliable service.

Nick is also a fully qualified underground Cable Jointer who has worked on systems from live Low Voltage up to 66kV transmission levels.

Tie-in Work Planning Manager

Simon has over 25 years of power industry experience and is qualified in overhead and underground customer electricity assets and cable systems. At UCS, he plans and schedules network tie-ins for new underground cable systems to ensure safe and timely connections.

Wayde Teasdale

Senior Estimator

Wade joined UCS in 2010 and manages design and project management services. Wade has over 25 years’ experience in in the Victorian electricity network industry and a diploma in Electrical Engineering from Federation University.

Josh Sokolowski

Senior Estimator

Josh started with UCS in 2001 as a part time cable installer and later signed on as a full time Apprentice Cable Jointer in 2005. Since becoming qualified, Josh has our led field crews delivering URD Electrical installations and in 2016 became Construction Manager for the South East region of Victoria. In 2020, Josh took on the role of Senior Estimator to support our growth in greenfields and infrastructure.

Troy started as an Apprentice Electrician at UCS in 2004. He is a qualified Electrician and Cable Jointer & has had extensive experience in leading our construction teams. He is results focused and a team orientated leader. Troy is currently undertaking a Diploma of Project Management.

Construction Manager – West Region

Kristian joined UCS Group in 2015 following the completion of his apprenticeship. Kristian quickly progressed into a Team Leader role managing and leading construction teams in the South East and Western regions of Victoria. In 2020, Kristian was promoted to the role of Construction Manager West Region.

Grant is a highly experienced, commercially focused manager with demonstrated experience across multiple service based industries. His core skills are in strategy development, industrial relations, executive and team mentoring, safety and staff development. Grant holds an MBA and Bachelor of Commerce (HR & Commercial Law), and is a Certified Member of the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI). Grant’s role is to oversee and guide the people and safety team within UCS, to ensure our team delivers a safe, high quality outcome for our customers.

Operations Manager (Victoria)

Abhikesh joined UCS in 2016 and manages our field operations, design and project management services.

With more than 10 year’s experience in the power industry, Abhikesh is well placed to manage our infrastructure projects. Abhikesh has an Electrical Engineering degree with honours and has delivered a diverse range of projects from Low Voltage up to 220kV Transmission Levels.

Joel has over 27 years’ power industry experience and joined UCS in 1999. He manages our field operations, ensuring projects are completed on time and budget. He is qualified in overhead and underground customer electricity assets and underground cable systems.

Technical Shared Services Manager

Michelle joined UCS in 2016 and brings 10 years experience as a workforce scheduling and planning professional.

Michelle’s role within UCS is based on customer focus and her ability to develop strong working relationships with both internal and external customers contributes to a positive customer experience.

Michelle has successfully completed a Diploma of Project Management and approaches her work with enthusiasm, integrity and professionalism.

Cameron joined UCS in November 2016, bringing an extensive sales and marketing background from various industries both in domestic and international markets, as well as strong operational management experience. Cameron understands the importance of honest and professional relationships and ensuring our customers enjoy the experience when engaging UCS.

Cameron holds a Grad Cert in Management and has undertaken a Master of Business Administration.

Cameron’s role is also responsible for the design, estimating, and customer support activities to our customers and brings a hands-on management approach. This style allows the business to understand changes in customer needs or market direction and assist in defining the future needs of these markets for the business by maintaining strong relations with our customer base.

Ron is a strong leader with an extensive spread of skills across all areas of operations management in utilities and services industries. He is experienced in contract management, commercial operations, process innovation, project management, change management, corporate services and general operational management.

Frank Cernoia

Frank Cernoia

Delivery & Technical Services Manager

Frank is an energy professional with over 30 years in the electrical industry.

His major expertise is in solar design, commissioning and installation of utility scale installations, most recently on a 124Mw project in Queensland. He also has deep experience in technical design, coordination and project management of large-scale solar installations.

Frank is experienced in the design and integration of energy efficiency, reduction and management projects on high consumption sites. His work on renewable energy systems utilising technologies such as solar and carbon mitigation includes regulatory approvals and engineering-based planning with proponents and national DNSP, as well as formulating ROI reports, NPV analysis and leasing options.

Frank has a Masters of Energy from UQ St Lucia, Brisbane, and is a qualified electrical contractor, accredited CEC Design and Install – On Grid and Off Grid.

Sonia Miranda

Project Engineer

Sonia has a Master of Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Western Australia and three years of experience in design and engineering. Sonia is responsible for the design of grid connected solar PV systems incorporating construction project layouts, panel schedules / configuration and electrical schematics. She takes initial system concept ideas and turns them into fully detailed construction-ready designs. Working on industrial, commercial, retail and utility scale solar projects, Sonia has a steady pipeline of diverse projects to design for the UCS Solar business.

National Design Manager

An industry professional, Owen leads delivery of the design engineering work stream for commercial solar and sustainability projects to create great customer experiences. Owen has been involved in design management of utility scale solar farms, solar PV systems, battery facilities and wind farms.

Owen is a graduate of the University of Melbourne and CEC Solar PV GC design Accredited.
